The 36th All India Japanese Speech Contest, a prestigious platform for students and language enthusiasts, concluded with resounding success as winners of regional rounds came together to showcase their mastery of the Japanese language. Held on April 19, 2025, at Daulat Ram College in New Delhi, the contest provided an inspiring stage for cultural exchange and mutual appreciation between India and Japan.


Participants who had triumphed in regional qualifiers delivered passionate, thoughtful speeches that impressed both the jury and the audience. Their fluency, pronunciation, and understanding of the language reflected months of dedicated practice and genuine appreciation for Japanese culture.


The contest was attended by dignitaries, educators, language experts, and members of the Japanese community in India. Judges praised the participants for their clarity, creativity, and emotional depth.

“It’s inspiring to see such high levels of proficiency among Indian learners of Japanese,” remarked one of the judges. “The speeches weren’t just linguistically accurate - they were heartfelt and meaningful.”


The event once again underlined the growing interest in Japanese language education across India and the deepening people-to-people ties between the two nations. As the speeches echoed through the hall, so did the shared spirit of cultural exchange and mutual respect.


The Mombusho Scholars Association of India (MOSAI),was the principal organizer of the contest, Their active promotion and coordination of the contest underscore their long-standing commitment to fostering Japanese language education in India.


The Embassy of Japan in India, acknowledged the contest on social media, motioning "The winners of regional rounds delivered amazing speeches in Japanese that dazzled the audience" . Deputy Chief of Mission Takashi Ariyoshi attended the event, expressing strong support for Indian learners and educators of the Japanese language.


Through initiatives like the All India Japanese Language Speech Contest, MOSAI continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening the cultural and educational ties between India and Japan, inspiring the next generation of global citizens fluent in the language of friendship and mutual understanding.
