JICA India and Deloitte Tohmatsu collaborate for the 16th Tsunagaru Lab Seminar on Agricultural Technology Innovations.

Hybrid Event Facilitating the Connection Between Technology and Grassroots Innovations in the Agriculture Sector, Featuring Companies and Start-ups.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) India, in partnership with Deloitte Tohmatsu and their open innovation platform Morning Pitch, will host the 16th edition of the Tsunagaru Lab seminar in a hybrid format on "Bridging the Gap: Technology and Grassroots Innovation in the Agriculture Sector" on February 27, 2024, at The Park New Delhi.

During the seminar, 7 companies namely Sagri, EF Polymer (Japanese companies), DeHaat, ICE Make Refrigeration (Indian companies), Dvara, E-diary, Fruitoholic, Food Square (Indian start-ups) will present their work in the agriculture sector.

Tsunagaru Lab (SDGs Business Co-Creation Lab) was launched by JICA India to connect Japanese companies with Social Enterprises in India that are looking for reliable local partners with a proven track record about CSR activities in India, who could collect data and conduct research for R&D and Marketing enabling to deliver goods and services to the last one mile in India. Also scouting for promising start-ups with unique technology, products and services.

JICA believes that significant social impact (development effects) can be created when social enterprises work with diverse players to solve India’s various challenges through innovative approaches and business models in various fields such as healthcare, education, agriculture, waste, and energy.

The Program’s objective is to promote first-of-its-kind achievement of the SDGs in India, especially in social development, by supporting the efforts of the Government of India (GoI) to strengthen the policy framework and implementation mechanism, thereby helping India achieve the SDGs by 2030. This program’s design aligns with the Government of India’s activities to support districts that have the potential to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs in India. The program expedites the five themes, namely, health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development, and basic infrastructure.

To fulfill this goal, JICA India invites Indian social enterprises and Japanese corporations to engage with the Tsunagaru Lab Team at tsunagarulab@jica.go.jp to become part of the initiative. Additionally, interested parties are encouraged to register for the Tsunagaru Lab event on February 27, 2024, via https://www.jicaregistrationevent.com/registration/.
